It developed a creaking sound until I sprayed some silicone lubricant inside the top cap that sits over the plunger rod . . now it's completely silent ! To keep the plunger rod base from falling off every time I lift and hold by the axle, I used a long, heavy rubber band wrapped around it to keep it securely fastened to the main frame and not fall of the little nubs that it sits over. Disappointed that I had to go to that kind of trouble and wish it had a more secured attachement, but, my rubber band fix works good.
I like to prop it up at a 45 deg. angle under my desk so I can work my legs while I work . . . but have to tie my chair to keep it from sliding backwards with every push. Wish the company would design a chair with an Xiser built into it.) Expensive yes, but worth it . . . it's silence and smoothness cannot be found in similar, cheaper devices. I'm very busy and need to lose weight to keep my blood pressure normal. Read Pace: The 12-Minute Fitness Revolution (Exercise Workout Books) and The Metabolic Effect Diet: Eat More, Work Out Less, and Actually Lose Weight While You Rest. Both books recommended the SPRINT as the best exercise to BURN FAT!!!
If you lack the space to run a sprint or the outside weather (cold or rain) stops you from exercising, then I highly suggest that you purchase the XISER.
